Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre gave an update on Thomas Delaney and Paco Alcacer’s availability ahead of Saturday’s game against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga

Despite storming to an incredible 4-0 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, Dortmund suffered a worrying blow when Delaney was withdrawn with a foot injury.

But Favre revealed that the Dane’s injury is not as severe as, perhaps, first feared.

Although the Frenchman could not say the same for striker Paco Alcacer, who didn’t feature against Atletico and is now a doubt for this weekend.

“Delaney’s injury is not too bad. Nothing is broken. We have to see how he recovers the next few days. As for Paco Alcacer, we don’t know yet,” said Favre in a press conference on YouTube.

Gotze was intimidated by Klopp when they met for the first time

Mario Gotze and Jurgen Klopp met for the first time at Borussia Dortmund, and the German midfielder explains how this was.

While pleased with Dortmund’s big win against Atletico, Favre is remaining grounded for the league game with sixth-place Hertha.

“It’s clear that the 4-0 win over Atlético is very good and that it gives you more confidence. We’ll take that with us, but it will be a different game on Saturday,” he said.

“It’s very difficult to play against Berlin. They have a better squad this year, with a lot of good and talented players.”

The match between Dortmund and Hertha at Signal Iduna Park will begin at 15:30 (CEST) on Saturday.
