Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre has revealed he expects Paco Alcacer to be fit for the team’s trip to RB Leipzig this weekend.
The former Barcelona striker came off in the first half of Dortmund’s last competitive win against Borussia Monchengladbach before the end of last month.
In a boost for the Bundesliga leaders, Alcacer is available for their first game since the mid-season winter break.
“His injury against Gladbach was a strain. It took some time, that’s clear, but now he’s fit and he is able to play,” Favre told a news conference, according to FourFourTwo.
“Of course he didn’t participate in every training session and he didn’t play a game for 90 minutes, but he will be there for sure.”
Dortmund are currently six points ahead of Bayern Munich atop the German league after just losing one of their 17 league games this season.
Alcacer already has 12 goals to his name so far in many league matches this season and has only started five games all season.
