West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson lavished praise on his teammates following their 2-1 Premier League win at Southampton on Thursday
The former Lazio star struck twice to deliver all three points for West Ham at St Mary’s and a fifth win in six league games to move them up to ninth in the table.
But Anderson refuses to dwell on his match-winning performance and instead paid tribute to all of his teammates.
“We’re starting to understand that sometimes we need to change positions, to play a bit differently and that has helped us to react more quickly on the pitch, to understand each other better,” Anderson told the club website.
“We managed to connect better in midfield, to keep our cool and that allowed us to be more incisive and to create more chances that way.”
Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was particularly impressive at Southampton after making a couple of fine saves.
“I speak constantly to him and he gives me trust,” said Anderson.
“Even when we don’t believe in ourselves he’s there, encouraging us and making us play better every time. He has been amazing for us.”
The Brazilian has managed nine goals and two assists in 19 Premier League appearances for West Ham this season.
The Hammers will next face Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday for their final game of 2018.
