Ferdinand backs Lampard for Chelsea job

The rumors that Maurizio Sarri is set to leave the Blues are stronger each day, which is why Lampard would be the perfect replacement.

There are many rumors that Chelsea’s manager, Maurizio Sarri, will leave the English Premier League club during the summer transfer window.

And his replacement would be non-other than Frank Lampard, who took Derby County to the English Championship Playoff Final last month.

Which is why former Manchester United footballer, Rio Ferdinand, has backed Lampard for the job.

“He is the perfect choice,” Ferdinando told Metro.

“People talk about experience and what-not but what experience did Pep (Guardiola) have when he went into Barcelona’s first team?”

The Scottish football legend has said the Spanish midfielder is a "magical" playmaker, as he announced he will leave Manchester City.

“He trained the younger kids at the club,” he added.

“Frank knows the club and he knows the players and the players will respect him.”

“You can see he can carry himself in a particular way in front of the media and in the football club and he can change things within a season,” Ferdinand commented.

“If Chelsea is going to get a ban transfer-wise I don’t think they can look anywhere but Frank if I’m honest.”

“Because he and Jody they know all the kids from 16 upwards. They know what they can all do,” he concluded.
