Rio Ferdinand says that French superstar Kylian Mbappe is his kid’s inspiration to become professional footballers.
He was widely regarded as one of the top defenders in world football at the peak of his career with Manchester United.
Now he has children of his own, who are considering venturing into the world of professional football.
The player that inspires them most is not dad, nor even a United player, but France’s Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking to Goal, Ferdinand is good with that as he feels the young French World Cup winner is the kind of guy he wants his kids to emulate.
“Mbappe is number one for them because he has scored so many goals, big goals and he has played in World Cups.”
“They see that as success and something that they want to be able to do.”
“Yes, he is a superstar but he is a nice and humble guy.”
“They love his vibe.”
Ferdinand himself is full of admiration for the man the player has become.
“I like him being a role model for them because he says all the right things.”
“His endorsements even are with the right companies.”
“More importantly, when he signs a new deal, he has his family all around him.”
“As a superstar, he is one I like my kids to follow.”
Does anybody *not* love Kylian Mbappe? 😍
