Cristiano Ronaldo has an undying admiration for Manchester United and he still likes to keep tabs on the club, suggests Bruno Fernandes.
Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been immensely influential for the team ever since joining them back in 2018.
Ronaldo led Juve to their ninth consecutive Serie A title last season. He finished 2019/20 with 37 goals across all competitions, breaking an all-time seasonal scoring record in the process.
The Turin-based club earlier sacked head coach Maurizio Sarri following their disappointing Champions League exit and replaced him with Andrea Pirlo.
A sweeping reorganization of the team is expected under Pirlo, whose appointment in itself was a huge surprise, and this change of scenario could come at the cost of Ronaldo.
It has been reported that the club is considering parting ways with their main man. While Juve’s intention remains unclear, or even established, rumors suggest that they are under huge financial pressure and letting go of Ronaldo, who takes home a whopping €31 million per year, is a solution.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague also confirmed the news previously. He informed that Juve have offered the former Real Madrid man to several clubs across Europe, including FC Barcelona.
And Bruno Fernandes recently added fuel to the rumors of Ronaldo’s possible departure by making claims about his intense admiration for Manchester United.
“Every time I speak with him, he asks me how Manchester is and if everything is okay,” Fernandes told the official club website.
“Everyone knows he spent a lot of time in Manchester and he has consideration for the club.
“He likes the club, I think he won his first Ballon d’Or here, so it’s a club who’ve marked him, for sure.”
Talks of Ronaldo’s return to Man United have been in existence ever since his Real Madrid days. The move looked unlikely back then, but he could be tempted to make a return now.
