Bruno Fernandes has yet again advertised his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo labeling his countryman as the most skilled player.
Apart from the extraordinary talent and a never-ending desire to succeed, a major contributing factor for Cristiano Ronaldo’s prolonged career at the top of the game is his ability to adapt to different scenarios.
Ronaldo operated as a winger during his Manchester United and Real Madrid days – terrifying defenses from the left flank and making runs into opponents’ box throughout the match.
But as he neared his mid-30’s, he started making fewer runs and began poaching the box more.
This helped the 35-year old focus all his energy on scoring goals while also minimize the risk of fatigue and therefore, injuries.
Bruno Fernandes acknowledges that the Juventus forward has changed his approach in the last few years but says he still remains one of the toughest to defend against in a 1v1 situation.
Fernandes told BT Sport: “Cristiano – more in the first years of his career he was one of the most skillful players in the world.
“I think he changed his game a little bit, but he’s still a player who is really difficult one against one to defend against.
“For me, for everyone I have played with and against, I think he is the most skilful player I have ever seen.”
