Abel Xavier insists Bruno Fernandes is destined for greatness at Manchester United on a par with the likes of compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bruno Fernandes has only been at Manchester United for a matter of months. He has already had a huge influence on the team and become a hero to the fans.
His impact at Old Trafford has been likened to that of Eric Cantona back in 1992.
The cult following considered similar to the likes of David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand.
His tenacity and eye for goal from distance not seen in the Theatre of Dreams since the days of Paul Scholes.
Now, fellow Portuguese footballer, Abel Xavier is adamant that Fernandes is destined for greatness with the Red Devils. The former Liverpool defender sees the player reaching the status of legend just like the aforementioned players.
Speaking to Stats Perform News, Xavier said:
“My view of Bruno is that he is going to be one of the major players for Manchester United over the next years.”
“The way he plays, the way he controls the moments of the game.”
“I think from what I know about the fans, they will love him for many years like they loved many legends from the past.”
“Like Cristiano, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand, Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes, all these legendary players.”
“Bruno I think will end up in this gallery of players.”
Fernandes has been a great signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But who else will he bring in to push the Red Devils to title contenders rather than title pretenders?
