The 2019/20 season was the best season for Karim Benzema in his Real Madrid career so far, according to Noel Le Graet.
Picking just one player as the standout performer for Real Madrid’s La Liga winning season would be unfair since their triumph was a result of collective brilliance of the likes of Sergio Ramos, Thibaut Courtois, Casemiro, and Karim Benzema.
Each player played a significant role – Ramos always delivered whether it was scoring from the spot at one of the pitch or making a goal-saving tackle on the other end. Casemiro was probably the one providing stability from the middle of the park while Courtois’s performance saw him become the best goalkeeper in the league, at least statistically.
Benzema was another key figure and one of the most consistent players for his side. The Frenchman netted 21 goals, four short of top-scorer Lionel Messi, and provided eight assists.
“He’s had an exceptional season with Real. I have already congratulated [Zinedine] Zidane who is his coach,” French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet said of Benzema, speaking to RMC Sport [via AS].
“He is one of the best players today, over the season he has just completed. The best? It is not up to me to judge because I haven’t seen all the games. But in my opinion, he had the best season of his career.”
