FIFA is lining up coronavirus contingency plans which include some huge changes to next season.
The world governing body for football, FIFA is making serious plans to overhaul the 2020.21 seasons. This is in light of the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
The plans include a mega transfer window. That would mean clubs being able to conduct transfer business over the first half of the season.
Reports from the Daily Mail suggest the idea of the window running from July to January is being seriously considered.
With regard to player’s contracts.
Any contract that expires before the current season is concluded will be extended to incorporate the extra months the current season will run.
There is also the suggestion of scraping the next year’s international breaks.
This would allow leagues to give players extra recovery time and even help the leagues start up the new season sooner rather than later.
