FIFA rankings: Belgium end 2018 as No. 1

Belgium finish the year ahead of world champions France in the FIFA World Rankings in the top spot

Roberto Martinez’s side have occupied first-place in the table since September and retained their lead over France by a single point.

This comes despite Belgium’s failure to qualify for next summer’s inaugural UEFA Nations League finals in Portugal.

After winning all of their games since the World Cup without a single goal conceded, Brazil finishes third for 2018.

The FIFA website added that World Cup finalists Croatia are fourth with England completing the top five.

Kaka: Neymar can lead PSG to Champions League glory

Kaka believes Neymar staying at Paris Saint-Germain could be a good thing as he can be the leader who leads the club to their first-ever Champions League title.

Portugal occupy sixth with Uruguay, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark completing the top 10.

Other notable entries are Argentina, who finished in 11th, and Germany, who end 2018 with a disappointing 16th place.
