Fiorentina are closing in on the signing of Pedro Obiang from West Ham United for a fee in the region of £10million, according to Sky Sports.
The Spanish-born Equatoguinean footballer, who joined the Hammers from Sampdoria in 2015, has featured in 17 games for the East London club this season.
The 26-year-old started West Ham’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday from the bench, as Declan Rice, who scored the winning goal, and captain Mark Noble started in the deep lying midfield positions, Samir Nasri playing ahead of them.
It is believed that Manuel Pellegrini’s side would not be willing to let Obiang leave without securing a replacement, and reports suggest they are interested in signing versatile Chile international Gary Medel from Besiktas.
Jack Wilshere, who has made just five appearances since signing leaving Arsenal to join the Clarets & Blue last summer, missed the win over his former side as he remains sidelined with injury.
Carlos Sanchez is expected to miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee in the Carabao Cup tie against Macclesfield Town in September.
