FC Barcelona ended their 2010/20 La Liga season on a positive note as they beat Deportivo Alaves 5-0 in the final matchday.
Barcelona entered the match having already surrendered the league title to bitter rivals Real Madrid.
However, that did not matter at all for Barca as they went on to put up one of their best performances of the season.
Ansu Fati opened the scoring at the 24th minute, with the goal orchestrated by Lionel Messi.
The creator turned destroyer for the second goal as Messi, after a sumptuous pass from Riqui Puig, deceived the opponent goalkeeper and scored from close-range.
Messi, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez all combined for their team’s third goal of the night before Nelson Semedo, who came on for the injured Clement Lenglet, also got on the scoresheet.
Finally, Messi met Alba’s cross and tapped the ball home fifteen minutes from time to round off the dominating victory.
With Champions League now in focus, Quique Setien will be delighted that his side were able to close the La Liga season with a positive result.
