Manchester United’s unbeaten run ends

The English giants suffered their first Europa League defeat since losing 2-1 to Fenerbahce in 2016.  It ended a 15-match unbeaten run for the one-time champions.

Meanwhile, Shomko’s equaliser for Astana was the first goal United had conceded in eight-and-a-half hours of Europa League action.

Now Solskjaer must prepare his men for their Group L finale at home to AZ Alkmaar, who blew their chance to leapfrog the Red Devils into the top spot by drawing 2-2 against Partizan.
