Fresh from a humiliating 4-0 Der Klassiker defeat to Bayern Munich, a nervous-looking Dortmund quickly fell three goals down to Bundesliga newbies Paderborn at Signal Iduna Park.
In fact, it only took the visitors five minutes to go-ahead through Streli Mamba. The striker later beat the offside trap to double Paderborn’s advantage before Gerrit Holtmann outran Julian Weigl to add a third.
But Dortmund showed their fighting spirit by launching a spectacular second-half comeback.
Jadon Sancho scored in the 47th-minute to start the comeback before Axel Witsel’s strike and a Marco Reus stoppage-time goal salvaged a point for BVB.
