Liverpool failed to book their spot in the Champions League knockout stages following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Napoli.
Defending champions Liverpool hosted Napoli on Tuesday hoping to qualify for the last-16 in the Champions League, and win Group E.
But things quickly went against them, when Dries Mertens beat the offside trap to fire Napoli into a first-half lead. Although the lacklustre Reds nearly equalised through James Milner just before the break.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came out stronger in the second-half, and began challenging Napoli’s unwavering defence.
And the Premier League leaders eventually did breakthrough with Dejan Lovren’s header in the 65th-minute sparing them a point.
