Hansi Flick warns Bayern Munich against getting carried away by their commanding lead over Chelsea in the upcoming second leg of the tie.
Bayern Munich walked over Chelsea 3-0 when the two sides met in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 back in February.
Bayern have enjoyed an inspiring form in the 2019/20 season, winning the Bundesliga title and DFB Pokal trophy.
Hansi Flick’s side are also being considered strong favorites to win the Champions League and complete a remarkable treble.
But Flick, who took over from Niko Kovac in November and has been a key reason behind the team’s success, is only focused on the second leg and not what lies beyond. In a press conference as part of the Audi Digital Summer Tour 2020, he also seemed wary of Chelsea due to their recent good form.
“Chelsea have played well recently, so it’s important we’re fully focussed approaching the game,” he said.
“The game against Chelsea is out next assignment. The focus is now on that because we still have to get past them.
“At the moment, we’re not thinking about any other games at the tournament in Lisbon. We dealt with the league and cup perfectly, and now it’s about doing something special. But first, our full focus is on Chelsea.”
