Robert Lewandowski has an unwanted record against Bayern Munich’s next opponent Fortuna Dusseldorf that he hopes to break.

Robert Lewandowski is one of the most potent strikers in football right now and has scored against some mighty opponents.

However, lowly Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf has something on the great Polish forward.

Lewandowski has never scored against them.

His manager at Bayern Munich is well aware of the record.

Hansi Flick insists he would like nothing more than for his top scorer to break his proverbial duck against the opposition and he is confident that he can.

His focus though is on the result for the team and stretching their lead over the chasing pack in the race for the league title.

He said to the club’s official website:

“Robert knows exactly the statistic that he has not yet scored against Dusseldorf.”

“He always wants to score a goal.”

“First of all, it is important to us that we stand up well and create chances.”

“Then if we win and he scores, it would be all the better.”
