Flick hoping Lewandowski keeps up his form vs Chelsea

Hansi Flick is expecting Robert Lewandowski to continue the ‘form of his life’ in the Champions League match against Chelsea.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been putting up phenomenal performances this season.

The Pole struck twice in his last match to help his side climb back atop the league table. Lewandowski’s brace saw him register an impressive 25 strikes in just 23 games in the Bundesliga this season.

With ten goals from five games, the 31-year old as an even more outstanding goal tally in the Champions League.

Lewandowski might have a tougher time finding the back of the net when Bayern face Chelsea later today in the Champions League Round of 16 match.

But Bayern boss Hansi Flick has urged his hitman to be at his sharpest while heaping praise on him.

“Robert is in the form of his life. He’s in peak condition and full of confidence,” Flick said as reported by Bundesliga’s official website.

“He’s on a real roll, but he’s also a team player who tracks back and covers in defense. I don’t know how many goals he’s scored this season off the top of my head, but he’s right up there.

“We hope that continues against Chelsea.”
