Phil Foden vows to continue his development process after he once again made known of his potential in a barnstorming display last night.
Manchester City dismantled Burnley 5-0 in what was their second Premier League outing following the end of a three-month lockdown period.
In a match that was filled with experienced performers putting up excellent performances, 20-year old Phil Foden shone the brightest.
The midfielder bagged a brace, firing in the opener from outside the box before finishing a close-range shot, while also being influential in the remaining goals for his side. His no-look pass to Bernardo Silva in the build-up to City’s first goal after the break particularly generated him plaudits.
The young Englishman feels the Burnley match has been the best display of his potential so far.
“I think that’s my best game in a City shirt, to be honest,” the official club website quotes Foden.
“I’m still learning every day and I’m still young. I know I have a long way to go so I’m happy when I put a performance like that in – really happy. It’s always good to play a part, scoring goals and I’m enjoying my football.
“The main thing is we’re happy to get the result. We’re looking sharp, and we hope to continue the form into the next game.”
