Manchester City’s Phil Foden is billed as the next big thing in England, apparently already surpassing Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.
Phil Foden has burst into the Manchester City team this season. The 20-year-old midfielder has forced his way into Pep Guardiola’s plans.
His top-notch performances have ousted big-money signings, Bernado Silva and Ilkay Gundogan, to peripheral figures in the City starting eleven.
While all the talk has been about the Red half of Manchester’s youngsters, namely Rashford and Greenwood scoring goals for fun, some think that Foden is not getting the credit he deserves.
Speaking to Talk Sport, Jamie O’Hara considers Foden already better than both the United stars and even comparable to City legend David Silva.
O’Hara thinks Foden may become one of the best ever.
“I think he’s he’s a potential future England captain.”
“For me, he’s going to be one of the best players we’ve ever seen play for England.”
“We talk about David Silva, a Man City legend in terms of what he’s done, but he went to the club when he was established as a finished article.”
“For me, Phil Foden is going to be way better than Silva at Man City.”
“He’s doing it already against Real Madrid and he’s still only a kid.”
“Everyone’s talking about Greenwood, Rashford and all these great young players, but Foden is the best player. He will be England’s best player.”
City is developing quite the habit despite their millions of developing some astounding young talent. Who will be next to emerge from the Blue’s academy?
