Paulo Fonseca’s Roma handed a serious beating to Fiorentina in a 1-4 win in Florence.
Today’s win solidify’s their fourth-place position in Serie A and closes the gap on the third place, Lazio, to just one point.
The opening goal came from none other than Edin Dzeko, who got on the end of a ZAniolo cross to make 0-1 in the 17th minute.
Only three minutes later another former Manchester City player Aleksandar Kolarov doubled the Romans lead.
His curling free-kick went up over the wall and down in time to find the back of the net.
It was his third free-kick goal of the season.
Badelj pulled one back for the host in the 34th minute, to give La Viola some hope in the second half.
They were able to stay within touching distance for almost 30 minutes after the break.
That was until Lorenzo Pellegrini turned Dzekos pass into the net in the 73rd minute.
The trashing was complete with two minutes to go.
An 88th-minute strike from Zaniolo meant he finished the night with a goal to go with his earlier assist.
The result leaves Fiorentina only four points above the relegation zone, and the future of Vincenzo Montella hanging in the balance.
