Dimitar Berbatov sees Tottenham as the perfect destination for Gareth Bale after returning from Spain.

Real Madrid signed Gareth Bale back in 2013 for €101 million. The fee saw the Welshman break the transfer record set by Cristiano Ronaldo and become the then most expensive player ever.

The 30-year old has been one of the most crucial players in Real Madrid’s past campaigns. Bale also scored numerous important goals for Los Blancos including the winner in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been surrounded with rumors linking him away from the Santiago Bernabeu. And former Spurs player Dimitar Berbatov has suggested Bale return to his old club.

“Gareth Bale has said he thinks Jose Mourinho is a good fit for Tottenham. So it seems possible that the Portuguese could try to sign the Welshman in January,” Berbatov said as per Goal.

“That would be a great move for both parties.

“I’m a big admirer of Bale. It’s not working out for him in Madrid and, if he comes back to England, Spurs would probably be the ideal club for him.

“He understands the club and was a great player for them before he left for Spain. I would be very pleased to see him back at Spurs,” Dimitar Berbatov said.
