Foundation raffle winner to reunite with childhood friend in Canada

Chelsea fan and Foundation raffle draw winner Peter Dendy says he will use the prize money to embark on a trip to Canada to visit a friend he has not seen his childhood.

The lucky fan enjoyed a tour of Stamford Bridge last week as he collected a cheque for £1,132 as one of the latest winners of the Chelsea 50/50 Foundation Raffles.

Peter, 71, who hails from Woking has supported the Blues since 1962, visited the changing rooms and press area before receiving his prize pitchside having scooped the cash prize at the Liverpool game in September.

Following his tour and upon receiving her prize, Peter, told Chelsea Official website:

“My first thought was WOW that will pay for my trip to Canada next year to visit my friend, whom I’ve not seen since I was 18 years old when we were in the Boys’ Brigade!”

On supporting the Chelsea Foundation he added: ‘Supporting The Chelsea Foundation is very important to me as it helps those less fortunate than myself and I play the 50/50 Foundation Raffle to help Chelsea provide for children in need.

“If everyone bought just one ticket at every home game just imagine what £80,000 can do – o come on all you fans put your hands in your pockets. I did and I won!”
