Frank Lampard has praised his opponents ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Ajax
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has warned his side against taking the return tie with Ajax lightly. The Englishman believes Ajax will be even more dangerous to face at Stamford Bridge.
Ajax were beaten 1-0 by Lampard’s men on their last visit to the Johan Cruijff Arena. Mitchy Batshuayi scored in the closing minutes of the match to give his side the necessary win. Batshuayi’s goal drew Chelsea level with last year’s semifinalist in Group H.
But Frank Lampard has warned his men to not get carried away with their previous win. The upcoming Champions League games for the London club can prove to be tough since Ajax can be more adamant playing away.

“I wouldn’t like to say that until that foot is officially in the next round,” Lampard said.
“I said at the start that this group would be tight because all the teams could take points off each other. That has been proved to be correct.
“We’ve had two good results and another one would be great for us with two games left, but we must understand that even though we are at home now, the quality and the danger from Ajax is as much, if not more, than the game we played away because they are such a good, technical team.
“I have to accept it’s expected of Chelsea to go through and that is no disrespect to any other teams. I have said already how hard the group is but it is more about our own expectations.
“But we won’t get carried away with ourselves in this group.”
