Fred has the potential to be the ‘perfect player’ at Manchester United and only needs to add goals to his game, according to Owen Hargreaves.
Fred only needs to add an attacking edge to his game and can be the perfect player for United.
The Red Devils beat rivals Manchester City to the Brazilian’s signature in the summer of 2018.
Despite arriving with a big reputation to his name, Fred failed to hit the heights at the club and wasn’t looking any close to justifying the €57m United paid for his services.
Much more recently, United have seen a change in form and Fred happens to be one of the players who look rejuvenated so far.
Former Manchester United player has now claimed the 27-year-old is close to being ‘perfect’ and only needs to add goals to his game.
Hargreaves told Premier League Productions h/t by Goal: “He’s a complete midfield player but if he can add goals to his game then he’ll be the perfect midfield player.”
“In possession he’s very good, out of possession he’s really aggressive and now the players around him are functioning which is a really good sign.”
“I think because they paid £50 million for Fred and he’s Brazilian that people thought he was a No.10 but he isn’t.
“He’s not a goalscorer and he’s not really creative but what he is a really good midfield player. He’s two-footed and now we’re seeing the player that was at Shakhtar, wherein the Champions League he put in some brilliant performances against the best teams.”
The arrival of Bruno Fernandes has allowed Fred to feature more in his preferred position as the Brazilian continues to impress on the pitch lately.
