Fred has finally come under the limelight for showing improvement in his performance.
Fred has been one of the biggest scapegoats for Man United. The midfielder, who was bought to support Pogba, was largely unimpressive and below par. But Fred has managed to change his game.
The Brazillian was one of the most influential performers in the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Brighton. The 26-year-old showed great composure and control on the ball. Fred’s recent consistency has brought him in the limelight. And manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quick to recognize his impact.
“You get confidence from playing games. He has not really had a run of games and I think he set us up with his midfield play,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said as reported on Metro.
“He won the ball. We had to get after them because, with Propper and [Dale] Stephens in midfield, we couldn’t let them get on the ball and I thought Fred was maybe the catalyst.
“Maybe there were a couple of fouls he shouldn’t have made in the first half to give them chances because that was one of the big opportunities they had, from set-plays.
“But, otherwise, he was excellent,” concluded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
