From skateboarding to professional football, the life of Felipe

The Brazilian has signed for Atletico Madrid and talks about what it means playing professionally after playing many different sports.

Brazilian center-back Felipe has been playing professionally since 2009, but before that he tried many different sports.

Now that he has signed for Atletico Madrid, the player is ready for the next step of his career.

“It was very difficult to start with, I didn’t get proper [football] training and I had lots of difficulties in many aspects,” Felipe told Marca.

“My first club was Bragantino, then I went to Coimbra and there were lots of flaws to my game.”

“Corinthians were very patient with me, they gave me training,” he said.

“At 23, they taught me as if I was a 15-year-old kid, I accepted it and it made a huge difference.”

The defender explained: “I played basketball for around four years until I was 14 and I also played volleyball.”

Takefusa Kubo ‘very happy’ to make Real Madrid debut

Japanese star Takefusa Kubo was pleased to make his first appearance in a Real Madrid jersey despite it ending in a 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.

“I did lots of things because I didn’t get the chance to train and so I started playing football late.”

“It was always the main goal. I focussed on it completely when I had my first opportunity and I finally reached the elite thanks to God,” he said.

“I had a dream, but I didn’t know how to get there. Then someone came to work with me, he was the one who helped me and I’m very thankful to him.”

“He told me that I had the ability to make it, he was excited, but if it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be here,” the player concluded.
