Mesut Ozil has given his own funny and not very blunt view on the difference between new manager Mikel Arteta and old one Unai Emery.
The two quite simply did not get along, and the strain was there for all to see in Ozil’s performances.
The German international became nothing more than a bit-part player in Emery’s Gunner’s side. By the time the Spaniard was fired in November he was often lucky to make the matchday squad.
Ozil’s career has been under somewhat of a resurgence since Mikel Arteta was appointed boss.
He is still some way from the form that inspired then Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to splash out 47 million Euros to sign him from Real Madrid.
However, Ozil’s overall game has seen signs of improvement and his impact has been more telling in recent weeks.
This according to the player is down to one very simple difference.
He revealed all when questioned by the press outside Arsenal’s winter break training camp in Dubai.
When asked what is the difference between Arteta and Emery, he gave a short and simple answer.
“Under Arteta, I’m playing.”
The best bit is he doesn’t even crack a smile or anything, he is dead serious.
Mesut Ozil you are one funny guy!
