FIFA 20 has taken the unprecedented step of removing Dutch legend Marco Van Basten from the game after his recent Nazi slur.

Recently Marco Van Basten made a crude choice of words that involved a Nazi slur aimed towards fellow presenters.

The incident was meant to be a jovial dig at his co-hosts attempt to speak German.

While the Dutch legend has apologized, his words were in such poor taste he was been suspended for one week and his salary donated to charity by his employers Fox Sports.

It now appears gaming company EA Sports has removed him from their flagship football game, FIFA 20.

According to the Daily Mail, the EA Sports statement read:

“We are aware of recent comments made by Marco van Basten.”

“We have an expectation that our commitment to equality and diversity is upheld across our game.”

“As such, we will suspend Marco van Basten ICON items from being available in Packs, SBCs and FUT Draft until further notice.”
