Pep Guardiola has revealed that Eric Garcia has rejected the offer of a new contract at Manchester City.

It looks like another young prodigious talent has decided to reject a new contract at Manchester City.

Only recently Leroy Sane rejected the offer of a new deal at the club. His desire to return to his native Germany and play for one of the biggest club’s in his homeland was too big a pull.

It appears that the situation is very similar with Eric Garcia.

The 19-year-old Catalan native swapped Barcelona’s La Masia for City’s academy back in 2017.

Since his arrival, he has forced his way into contention for a place in the first team. He has been called on numerous occasions by Guardiola to play in the Premier League, Fa Cup, League Cup, and Champions League.

As Guardiola’s side prepares to face Spanish giants Real Madrid, he revealed that it looks like Garcia wants to play elsewhere are rejecting the offer of a new deal.

According to Goal, he said:

“He announced to us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract with Manchester City.”

“He has one more year and after that, he doesn’t want to extend. We want it but he doesn’t want to extend it so I imagine he wants to play in other places.”

It is widely believed that a return to the Camp Nou is on the agenda.
