Real Madrid lose to Roma in penalties following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. Gareth Bale also makes his first appearance since failing to force a move to China, in-doing so.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Real Madrid dropped a penalty shoot-out to Italian opponents Roma, during an international friendly between the two.
Madrid’s Marcelo began the scoring for the day, with a well hit, low-drive into the back of the net, before Roma’s Deigo Perotti equalized. Midfielder Casemiro then restored Real Madrid’s lead, but striker Eden Dzeko levelled the scoring with a tidy finish, just before HALF TIME.
In a game where Roma were the better side, Real Madrid named a strong line-up and even gave Bale a 30 minute cameo. Despite some strong names however, the Spaniards failed to impress.
It has been reported that Bale has wanted out of Madrid, with relations between him and manager Zinedine Zidane being depicted as rocky. Regardless of this however, it would seem the French/Algerian boss has thrown Bale a bone. With the opportunity of some playing time being the offer.
If Bale and Zidane can patch their differences, then Real Madrid could certainly do with the Welsh winger. Especially considering their somewhat average pre-season and poor season previously.
