AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has revealed Gonzalo Higuain wants to leave the club this month, amidst interest from Chelsea.

Higuain is currently on loan at Milan from Juventus this season but has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, who are reportedly in the market for a striker.

The Rossoneri beat Sampdoria 2-0 in extra time on Saturday to reach the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, and afterwards, Gattuso admitted he faced a fight to keep the Argentina international at the club.

“We have a very open relationship, we say things to each other’s faces,” Gattuso said, as quoted by Daily Mail.

Kessie and Biglia embarrasing in Milan’s defeat

Franck Kessie and Lucas Biglia have apologized for the embarrassing brawl they created during the Milan derby. The ugly incident took place when Kessie was substituted...

“There is great honesty. When a player makes certain choices, it becomes difficult to convince him otherwise. One can try.”

“At the moment, he is a Milan player and we’re holding on tight. I don’t know what will happen. We are honest with each other and I want him to maintain the same attitude, which has never been lacking.”

Higuain, who has eight goals to his name for Milan this season, has been named in the squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia to face Juventus in the Italian Supercup this week.
