Gbamin reveals why he couldn’t reject Everton

Ivorian midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin completed a £25 million move to the English Premier League side from the German Bundesliga side Mainz.

Defensive midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin played for German Bundesliga side Mainz from 2016 to 2019.

But during this summer, he was transferred to Everton in the English Premier League.

“I was aware they really wanted me and they wanted me to play in a position that I love playing,” he said according to Goal.

“Everton is a big club and when a big club comes in for you, you don’t hesitate. They had been looking at me for a long time.”

“I’ve played at clubs where fans show passion and I know for a fact the fans are noisy and get behind the side – I can’t wait to experience that myself for real,” he added.

“There’s been a lot of confidence shown in me bringing me to the club. I want to show people what I’m capable of.”
