Lyon manager Bruno Genesio hopes to start the second half of the season on the right foot by beating Montpellier in their 2018 finale

Victory for Lyon tonight could be crucial with the club only two points above Montpellier in third and the final Champions League spot in Ligue 1 having played one more game.

And Genesio hopes to see his side carry on the same form they’ve display against Shakhtar Donetsk, AS Monaco and Amiens over the past ten days.

“The goal is to maintain the level we’ve shown in our last three matches,” said Genesio on the club website.

Thomas Tuchel confirms Neymar is close to PSG comeback

Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed reports stating that Neymar could make a return for Sunday's showdown against AS Monaco

“It’s important to end the year well… We’ve already achieved some of our goals in the Champions League and the Coupe de la Ligue.

“With a good result against a direct competitor, our start to the second half of the Ligue 1 season will be more successful. There is no fatigue on our side. Many players were rested on Wednesday.”

Former Manchester United defender Rafael is out with a long-term thigh injury, while Jérémy Morel and Maxwel Cornet join him on the sidelines.

Midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Ousseynou Ndiaye are doubts for the game at Montpellier, which begins at 21:00 (CET).
