Genoa chief executive Giorgio Perinetti confirmed that both Juventus and Inter Milan have expressed an interest in Cristian Romero

The 20-year-old defender has impressed in his debut campaign at Genoa following his summer move from Argentine side Club Atlético Belgrano for €1.6m.

Romero has started 11 of Genoa’s 19 Serie A games and scored his first-ever goal in Europe in a 2-2 draw against Udinese on October 28.

Ancelotti is disappointed with Napoli

The manager says his team lacked motivation as they were defeated by Atalanta, and doesn't like the way his team is playing in the second half of the season.

“Both have shown interest,” Perinetti told Tuttosport.

“But at the moment the Bianconeri have proved more concrete. The relations with Juventus are excellent, we have made several successful deals in recent times.”

It’s understood that Genoa, who currently sit 14th in the Serie A, will allegedly demand €20m for Romero’s sale.

The Rossoblù will be back in action at home to AC Milan on January 21 after the end of the Italian winter break.
