Steven Gerrard has been linked with the vacant Bournemouth manager’s role and Jamie O’Hara believes he should take it.
Gerrard is at the helm of Glasgow Rangers and is bidding to end Celtic’s hegemony in Scottish Premier League.
However, Jamie O’Hara believes the Liverpool legend should drop those ambitions over taking Bournemouth back to Premier League.
Eddie Howe’s departure from Dean Court has young aspiring managers linked to the Cherries. Gerard is one of them and he will be fighting for it with John Terry.
O’Hara believes Gerrard should actively seek the Cherries job as plying his trade in Scotland will not account for much.
“I wouldn’t want to disrespect the Rangers people because they are a huge football club but it is a bigger job to potentially be the Bournemouth manager,” O’Hara told TalkSPORT.
“Rangers are a huge, huge football club but for me there are only two teams in Scotland. Bournemouth is the potential, they have just dropped out of the Premier League and to get them back into the Premier League. They are still a high profile football team.”
“I would take the Bournemouth job. It’s the bigger job.”
