Brazilian attacking midfielder Gerson is back to Flamengo, but his dad and agent spoke about the time he was playing for the Giallorossi.
22-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder Gerson played for Roma from 2016 to 2019.
But during two seasons, he only played 42 times, scoring twice.
And his agent-father, Marcao, has admitted it was a bad choice to let him play for the Giallorossi.
“Barcelona wanted Gerson and reached a purchase agreement,” Marcao was quoted by Football Italia.
“That was until I checked into the Fluminense offices one day and their president told me Roma had made a special offer, a ‘magic’ one.”
“He told me that the club was in financial difficulty, with some people not even being paid,” he added.
“I then went to meet them and accepted their offer.”
“Now I’m much more experienced and I probably wouldn’t do it again,” Gerson’s father concluded.
After being loaned to Fiorentina in the 2018-2019 campaign, Gerson was sold to Flamengo, where he’s enjoying a good time.
