It’s time to talk about AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the most precocious Italian goalkeeper in football history who just turned 20.

This past Monday was Gianluigi Donnarumma’s 20th birthday, we decided to talk about his career as an AC Milan and Italy player because he already is one of the best goalkeepers in the country despite his early age.

This kid was arguably one of the most precocious players in Italian football history, he made his Serie A debut for AC Milan at the tender age of 16 days and 242 days on 30 July 2015.

Nobody ever imagined that this goalkeeper would be only 13 days shorter of legendary Rossoneri goalkeeper Giuseppe Sacchi, who 73 years earlier made his debut for the club and is still the youngest player in the club’s history to accomplish that.

But Donnarumma’s milestone is not less impressive because of that, this is a kid who quickly won his spot as the club’s starting goalkeeper over other great goalies such as Diego Lopez and Christian Abiatti.

Even the Spanish goalkeeper recognized Gianluigi’s greatness, calling him ‘the future of Milan and Italian football’ one time.

It took the youngster only a few months to take Lopez’s place in the squad, he was already Milan’s goalkeeper by the start of 2016.

Gianluigi has never stopped growing as a player since then, he’s become a true veteran of AC Milan and he only turned 20 on Monday.

Donnarumma truly is a legend in the making, he also became the youngest goalkeeper to make his debut for the Italian national team at the age of 17 years and 189 days.

Since he played his first match for the Azzurri, Donnarumma has already taken the position as the starting goalkeeper for Roberto Mancini’s youngster-filled squad and he took Gianluigi Buffon’s place as the main goalie for the Nazionale.

This young goalkeeper has even won his first trophy for AC Milan, he got the honor of beating Juventus in the 2016 Supercoppa Italiana final and delivered a massive performance in the penalty shootout where he saved the shots from Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala in order to give his teammates the trophy from the Vecchia Signora.

Donnarumma is already considered one of the world’s best players at his age, he is well on his way to leading AC Milan to successful future competitions but the Rossoneri need to arm themselves with better players in order to convince Gianluigi that he should remain in the club.

AC Milan’s latest purchase of Polish striker Piatek is one of the ways in which they will be able to convince Donnarumma that staying is the best thing he can do, but agent Mino Raiola has been doing everything he can to lure him out of the club with offers from all around the world. “Enjoy your Coppa Italia Matches with HighlineTV Antenna Now!”

So far there has been no confirmation on Gianluigi leaving AC Milan for another club, but the player does remain silent in regards to that very delicate matter.

Donnarumma’s biggest dream is to win trophies throughout his career, he won’t be able to do that if he remains in a club that refuses to grow as a club by buying some of the best players that the transfer market has to offer.

The Rossoneri already have one of the best goalkeepers and they just signed one of the best strikers, they now need to start getting better defenders and also get better quality midfielders in order to become more competitive.

Gennaro Gatusso’s squad is currently in the Serie A’s fourth position, they don’t seem like they will compete for the trophy this year but they remain hopeful to win the Coppa Italia as they will visit Lazio later this Tuesday with birthday boy Gianluigi Donnarumma as the goalkeeper.

How long do you think Gianluigi Donnarumma will hold as AC Milan’s goalkeeper before leaving the club for better opportunities to win trophies? Please share your opinion in the comment section down below.
