Glen Johnson believes that Jose Mourinho is unlikely to join Arsenal as their manager.
Jose Mourinho has hinted that he misses management and wants to return to his coaching career. The Portuguese, hence, is considered a viable candidate by many to succeed Unai Emery at Arsenal.
Arsenal coach Unai Emery looks to be out of ideas. Under Emery’s management this season, Arsenal have only won four out of their twelve Premier League match this season. The Gunners boss is under huge pressure as former players continue to demand his departure.
But Jose Mourinho’s former assistant coach does not think Mourinho would consider managing the Gunners. Although he does assure that the 56-year-old will make a return to Europe as a manager.
“Jose Mourinho is sitting in the shadows at the moment,” Glen Johnson told Express Sport
“He’s being patient and things change so quickly in football where a job that seems secure now, might not be in two months time.
“Arsenal and Tottenham are the two places where the doors could be open sooner but I don’t think I could see him at Arsenal.
“He’ll wait for it to unfold over Christmas and perhaps he’ll cherry-pick after that. But I don’t think he’s the type to rush and get a job just for the sake of getting one.”
