Did Bruno Fernandes say his goodbyes after last nights game for Sporting Lisbon?
The Mirror seems to think so. Is he on the plane to Manchester to complete one of the transfer sagas of the summer?
Tears of joy? I think not, with Lisbon going down 2-1 to Spanish side Valencia.
Tears of despair? Not likely, it was only a pre-season friendly.
The 24-year-old Portuguese international, captained his team last night. But appeared after the game, to have a rather public display of emotion.
According to the cameras he was clearly emotional and crying.
Pictures do show him in the centre of the pitch after the game with some of his current teammates. It does all appear to get a little too much for him.
It has been one of the most protracted transfers of this window. The question on everyone’s lips now, especially the impatient Manchester United fans. Is this a sign of it all coming to 60 plus million-pound end.
Last season was somewhat of a major breakthrough for Fernandes. He managed 27 goals in 54 games.
Keep in mind he is not a striker but a midfielder. Those kinds of figures leave wantaway Paul Pogba in the dust.
It’s unclear if Manchester United have to make room for him or he is a must-have man. There are still a couple of players whose future is up in the air at Old Trafford.
There is a big difference between the Primeira Liga of Portugal and the Premier League of England. But having said that Mr. Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t appear affected by swapping Lisbon for Manchester.
Will, he won’t he? He’s due for a medical tomorrow, no the deal is off. The story has run and run. One thing for sure by August 8th we will know.
