Gossip: Madrid preparing mega bid for Mane

Real Madrid is considering a 180 million Euro bid in an attempt to lure Sadio Mane away from Anfield.

The story, broke this morning according to The Liverpool Echo.

Real Madrid is apparently readying an enormous incentive for the Senegalese player.

Liverpool is making their position extremely clear, that no bid is welcome and their star man is not for sale.

Los Blancos are ready to give Mane the “prestigious and historic” number 7 shirt. Donned by so many Madrid greats.

Mane who joined the Merseysiders in 2016, has performed consistently over the last 3 years. But last year was his breakout season toping 20 league goals for the first time in his Premier League career.

What makes him so special though is his work rate.

In 159 Premier League appearances, he has managed 66 goals, 22 assists and 227 crosses. This makes decent reading for a forward.

What makes remarkable reading for a forward is his defensive record, almost 200 tackles, nearly 80 blocked shots, and the same in interceptions.

He was a bargain back in 2016 at 30 million Euros making the move up north from Southampton.

It beggars belief why Manchester United who were so strongly linked with him, apparently balked at the asking price.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid have that kind of money. Given they have spent around 300 million already this window.

They are still very interested in what has become a very public pursuit of Paul Pogba. For whom United have set the price at 150 million.

After a disastrous start to the pre-season, Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid side needs help. They have never really replaced the goal-scoring machine that is Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, is Sadio Mane their kind of player and is he really attainable. I m not convinced if anything Mo Salah is a Real kind of player.

But Jurgen Klopp will not want to nor does he need to part with either of his dynamic duo.
