Mason Greenwood admits that he sees teammate Marcus Rashford as one of his role models.
Marcus Rashford was in red hot form and was enjoying statistically his best season ever with Manchester United until he was met with an unfortunate injury last month forcing him to remain out of action.
Mason Greenwood, who followed a similar path to the Man United number-10, is also having a breakthrough season. The 18-year old has scored nine goals across all competitions so far and has managed to earn manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s trust with his performances.
Speaking in an interview with the SPORTBible, Greenwood highlighted similarities between Rashford’s and his own career at Man United. He also said that he has a lot to learn from the 22-year old.
“Yeah, definitely,” Greenwood replied when asked if he sees Rashford as his role model.
“He’s been in the academy and come through the ranks and I feel like I’m following in his footsteps.
“He’s a few years older than me but I can definitely take a lot of inspiration from what he has achieved so far. I’ve known him for a long time so I’ve seen how well he has done and how he has progressed as a player. So, there’s lots to learn from being around him.”
