Antoine Griezmann is not only happy with life in Barcelona, but he is also happy that his relationship with Lionel Messi is continuously improving.
Antoine Griezmann bagged an important goal that helped Barcelona beat Getafe.
Their opponents may be La Liga minnows in comparison to the mighty Barcelona, but the fact that they sit third in the league suggests they are no pushovers either.
A victory to stay in touch with Real Madrid was important.
So when Antoine Griezmann broke his goal drought it was a relief for him and his club.
To say Griezmann has struggled may be an exaggeration. But he has definitely not found making the switch from Atletico Madrid an easy one.
He is no longer the star attraction, he plays second fiddle Lionel Messi and sometimes even to others.
However, in an interview reported by Goal, the French World Cup winner insists he is happy. Griezmann admits he is still learning to play with his new strike partner Messi, but that their relationship is ever-improving.
“I’ve been here for six months, we still have to learn.”
“I have to learn [Messi’s] movements and he has to learn mine.”
“We’re enjoying the work we put in together and it’s getting better and better all the time.”
“I’m very happy and really enjoying myself here.”
The idea behind Griezmann’s arrival was that he, Messi and Suarez would form an attacking trident.
The season started with Messi out injured, then Uruguayan Suarez got injured.
