Grujic explains why he returned to Hertha Berlin

The Serbian footballer believes he can give more at the Bundesliga than just “run around” Europe with different teams.

23-year-old Marko Grujic has been playing professionally since 2013 when he debuted for Red Star Belgrade. He was loaned to Kolubara only to return and be sold to Liverpool in 2016.

And he has yet to make an impact with the Reds, instead of being loaned back to Belgrade, then in 2018 to Cardiff City, and in 2018 to Hertha Berlin.

And while he had a chance to go somewhere else in Europe, he has decided to return to the Bundesliga with Berlin.

“I had three good options, but I chose the best”, Grujic was quoted by Inside Futbol.

“Ante Covic was the door opener for me.”

“He told me he had a more offensive style with a lot of possession,” he added.

“The coach wants us to play as much as possible through the middle, so we have options on both sides of the playing field.”

“For me as a midfielder that’s perfect,” Grujic concluded.
