Pep Guardiola says he enjoys working at Manchester City and is not looking to quit the club.
Last year, Man City were behind Liverpool too but managed to close the gap in the closing stages and eventually win the title. But this term, even the most optimistic of City fans would not bet on them securing the title.
Manchester City have fallen victim to a relentless Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side as they find themselves 14 points short off the top spot in the Premier League table.
As a result, talks emerged that Pep Guardiola was no more happy at the Etihad. Although Guardiola’s current contract runs until 2021, he was believed to trigger the break clause.
Ahead of the match against Crystal Palace, the Spaniard has assured the fans that he has no such intentions. Guardiola insisted that he was happy at Man City and will continue in his role until the club fires him.
“Unless they sack me, I am staying, 100%,” Guardiola told BBC.
“It’s not because we have won the last two games. Even if it was going bad, I’m not going anywhere.
“No manager wins all the time. I enjoy working with these players. We’ve lost some games so it is simple, we need to work out what we can do better.”
