Pep Guardiola is dreading the day he has to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Argentine Aguero is now 31 years old. He is Manchester City’s all-time leading goal scorer.
But the Spanish tactician insists that replacing a player like Aguero is almost impossible.
In an interview reported by Goal, he admits it may be his toughest job yet.
“[Replacing Aguero] will be one of the toughest [jobs].”
“Sergio is irreplaceable.”
“We have another incredible striker in Gabriel [Jesus] and maybe another one will come when Sergio leaves, but he is irreplaceable.”
“Sooner or later it will happen, he’ll decide when [he leaves].”
“I’m sure the club will be ready to try to find the guy to replace him, but of course, it will not be easy.”
It’s not just Aguero’s talent that he needs to replace though, but his personality.
“I’ve worked with other stars who believe they were bigger than Sergio when they weren’t and they were more difficult to handle and to be with.”
“It’s not easy to find a guy with his status, his personality.”
“What he’s done in his career with his humility and accepting everything perfectly.”
Aguero’s most famous goal of his 244 for City was the one that won the league back in 2012.
