Pep Guardiola has blamed Machester City’s recent demise on their inability to be decisive in goal.
Manchester City have won just one of their last five matches in all competitions. In the Premier League, the Sky Blues have already dropped points in five of the 14 matches, while losing thrice.
Pep Guardiola feels his team is suffering because of their lack of decisiveness in front of goal. The Spaniard pointed out their opponent’s resolution in scoring while comparing them with Man City’s. Guardiola also insisted that they will try to carry their mentality to their next game.
“It is quite similar to last season,” Guardiola was quoted by Daily Mail.
“We had 24 shots, not all of them on target. We had three or four one on ones with the keeper.
“They [Newcastle] shot twice and scored. They are incredible stats. We try to create more and concede less.
“They have to believe we can win tomorrow – that’s the situation we’re in at the moment,” Pep Guardiola added.
“We have to play quite similar to Saturday at Newcastle. Score the chances we have created and be more solid.
“I like Fernandinho playing in that position. Right now I prefer him there, that’s why he plays,” Guardiola said about Fernandinho.
