Pep Guardiola has dropped a hint Sergio Aguero could return fit in time to face Real Madrid in the Champions League next month.
It’s looking more and more likely Aguero could play a part against Real Madrid at the Etihad on August 7.
The Argentine forward has been out of action since he suffered a knee injury during his side’s 5-0 thrashing of Burnley last month.
It was initially feared Aguero could be ruled out long-term. But his recovery has gone on smoothly and perhaps even earlier than schedule.
Man City hold a slender 2-1 lead going into their second-leg tie with Real Madrid. To stand all chances of closing out the La Liga champions, Guardiola would need all firepower available at his dispossal.
Guardiola spoke on his upcoming Champions League encounter with Real Madrid and insisted he could have almost all personnel available.
“I think against Madrid everyone will be fit apart from (Benjamin) Mendy, who is suspended,” the City boss said as quoted by Daily Mail.
“So in the training sessions everyone will be fit and we’ll go for the senior guys for this game.”
With Aguero available, Guardiola would fancy his side’s chances of scoring goals in good regard.
For now, the aim for the Citizens is to improve their overall-play before their crunch clash in two weeks time.
