Pep Guardiola says he is focusing on securing a Champions League for Manchester City next season.
Pep Guardiola walked away with disappointment as Manchester City slipped up yet again after failing to find the winning goal against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Manchester City’s 2-2 draw means that they are now 13 points behind the league leaders Liverpool who still have two games in hand. With 48 points from 23 games so far, City sit second in the league table. Liverpool can also extend the gap with a positive result tomorrow against Manchester United.
But irrespective of Liverpool’s results, Pep Guardiola has lost all his hopes. As Marca reports, the Man City boss suggested that they should now be concentrating on securing a Champions League spot next season.
“It was a tight game. It’s difficult to analyze when they shoot from one corner and have no more chances,” he said.
“We did everything to win the game and unfortunately, in the end, we lost two points because we could not stop the counter-attack.
“But we have to continue, there are still a lot of games to play. We have to try to secure the place for the Champions League next season.”
